This exhibition catalog expands on the life and creative/spiritual practice of longtime Chicago-based painter and educator, Deborah Boardman (1958-2015).  The publication offers comprehensive documentation of Boardman’s 2019 memorial exhibition at Hyde Park Art Center, as well as an array of scholarly writings on Boardman’s work. Text and poems by Robert Metrick, Tate Shaw, and Kristin Korolowicz are followed by an art historical narrative and timeline of Boardman’s career by curator Jessica Cochran. Together with color images of the work in the show, the catalog presents an accurate and heartfelt understanding of the impact Boardman made on the artist communities she touched.
