Urban Griot documents Hyde Park Art Center’s exhibition of the paintings and drawings of Bill Walker, prolific Chicago muralist. Walker (1927-2011) was a founding member of artists in OBAC (Organization of Black American Culture) and participated in painting the Wall of Respect mural in Chicago. The publication includes writing on the work in the exhibition by Juarez Hawkins, curator of Urban Griot. Also featured are writings on the art of Bill Walker by Victor Sorell, Jeff Huebner, Rebecca Zorach, and Patric McCoy.
